Typhoon Yolanda

Hello friends of Divepoint Alcoy,

in the media you could see how the super typhoon Yolanda affected parts of the Philippines.

Many people lost their homes or their loved ones.

We in the southern part of Cebu and especially because of our protected situation here had no problems like other regions.

So let us think about the ones with less good luck and keep coming to the beautiful Philippines to spend your holidays and to give Philippinos jobs and income for their families.

Let´s work together on this.

Here you can see photos of November 08. and November 09.2013.

Our big boat was save behind the outer reef.

Divepoint Alcoy not affected by the earthquake

Dear friends,

you possibly heard and saw much about the earthquake on October 15. 2013.

Many of you already contacted us about this to ask if we are OK.

The center of the earthquake was located under Bohol. There were damages and casualties as well as in Cebu City and partially along the eastern coastline of Cebu.

Here in the Divepoint Alcoy we had no damages and nobody was hurt.

Also our boats had no problems. The “Seahorse” was just near Bohol when the earthquake happened.

The guests on board felt the shaking but only 2 hours after that still had very nice dives near Cabilao, still not knowing how strong the earthquake had been on Bohol.

We were very lucky on that day and do not expect something like that again around here for a long time.

So in the end let us take some time to think about the people who lost relatives and friends or their homes.

Maybe some of you will be able to find ways to help them.

Our “Seahorse” is drydocked

Even the best diving boat has to be out of the water from time to time.

We drydocked our “Seahorse” on Tingko Beach in Alcoy.

Soon the boat will be like new and will bring you to the best divespots of the Visayas, e.g. Balicasag, Cabilao and Sumilon like it did so many times before.

Special thanks to Mr. Mark Cancio for allowing us to use his lot and Jacinto Antig and his family to make this happen.

The Antig family owns a very nice lot at Tingko Beach nearby. A perfect place to have fun and to relax.

Just have a look!

Beach Cleanup Day with Mermaids at Tingko Beach in Alcoy

Thank you to Mermaid Katrin Felton for her presence and good energy, to Gadie Barro for the initiative of this project, to the Guiwang Elementary School for helping us on the beach, Buzzy Budlong for the amazing time and to everyone who joined us to make this an unforgetable day. And special thanks to Jacinto Antig and his family who allowed us to use their wonderful beach lot for this event and also donated the snacks for the children and helpers.

One of the most beautiful beaches of Cebu was cleaned also by divers. And any time when we are diving there we will continue what we started on this event.
